Magdalena Frackowiak, Oscar de la Renta F/W 2013, New York Fashion Week
the good thing about magdalena is that she was one of those girls since the mid-00’s but she was never quite the girl. so the fashion world hasn’t gotten tired of her yet as of 2013.
she outlasted natasha poly, lily donaldson, sasha pivovarova, hilary rhoda, chanel iman, irina lazareanu, to name a few.

The Pièce de résistance of my shopping trip with hijabeng, who I think of as a friend AND as my “secret weapon” when it comes to jewelry. This gorgeous beauty cost me $38. It is a showstopper and I can’t wait to break it out.
I come from a culture with great traditions in handcrafts, metalwork & goldsmithing, embroidery, and couture-level sewing, and yet I have to say, the people of the (broader) Indian subcontinent have unparalleled achievement in metalworking. Hats off, truly. This is very affordable costume jewelry that has far superior metalworking (and I’d argue, design) than what you’d find at Cartier. Think about that for a moment, dear readers.
